The Way Back To Ourselves: A conversation with Floyd McLean Jr. & Guests

Join us for HubChat: The Way Back To Ourselves. A conversation with Floyd McLean Jr. & Guests + Live Performance HubChat: The Way Back To Ourselves. Come join us for an exciting evening at Performance Garage where we will be hosting a special event featuring a conversation with Floyd McLean Jr., our DanceVisions resident artist and Guests. McLean's project explores the ways we seek comfort, fulfillment, and escape in things that are ultimately fleeting. From greed and lust to substances as well as validation from others. While these experiences may offer temporary relief or satisfaction, their impermanence can leave us searching for something deeper, often pulling us further away from ourselves in the process. Through this work, McLean examines the importance of turning inward, finding our center, and discovering a sense of self that does not depend on what is temporary. In doing so, the work explores how returning to ourselves can become a pathway toward transcendence. McLean will also discuss his choreographic influences, share clips from his past performances, and present excerpts of his work on the Performance Garage stage. About HubChats HubChats are panel discussions led by guest artists that focus on relevant topics for Philadelphia dance artists.
