Join us at Southwest School of Woodworking for a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn real woodworking skills, explore your creativity, and build something beautiful that inspires you every day! You’ll create your own decorative wooden frame, design a personalized vision board, and take home a unique piece that reflects your goals, dreams, and personality. No woodworking or artistic experience needed. Just bring your imagination! Why Create a Vision Board? Life gets busy, and sometimes our dreams and goals get pushed aside by our everyday routines. A vision board is a fun, creative way to remind yourself of what really matters, what makes you happy, and what you’d love to accomplish. There’s something special about taking your ideas out of your head and putting them somewhere you can actually see them! Whether your dreams involve getting healthier, traveling somewhere new, building stronger relationships, starting a business, or finally doing something you’ve been putting off, a vision board can help you stay focused on what you want to achieve. It’s not about wishing for things to magically happen. It’s about reminding yourself to make them happen! And what better way to make your vision board even more meaningful than to build it yourself? Part 1: Let’s Get Woodworking! We’ll start in our professional woodshop, where experienced instructors will guide you through creating your own wooden frame. You’ll learn real woodworking techniques and get hands-on experience with tools and equipment, including: • Router: Create a decorative edge for your frame and choose the style you like. • Mitered corners: Learn how to cut and fit the corners of your frame together. • Wood glue & clamps: Assemble your frame using traditional woodworking techniques. • Decorative feather joints: Add wooden splines to strengthen your frame and give it a beautiful handcrafted detail. • Finishing touches: Add a backing and hanging hardware so your completed vision board is ready to display at home. You’ll be working with real wood, learning new skills, and creating something you can proudly say you made yourself! Part 2: Four Sections, Endless Possibilities! Now comes the creative part! We’ll divide your vision board into four sections to make organizing your dreams and goals easy, meaningful, and fun. Here are four areas to help get your imagination going: 1. Health & Wellness Your physical and mental well-being, fitness goals, healthy habits, self-care, and feeling your best. 2. Love & Relationships Family, friendships, romance, meaningful connections, and the people who bring happiness into your life. 3. Career & Financial Goals Professional dreams, financial freedom, new opportunities, personal projects, and achievements you’d love to reach. 4. Personal Growth & Adventures Travel, hobbies, learning new skills, exciting experiences, and all those things you’ve always wanted to try! These are just ideas to get you started! Your vision board is about YOU, so you’re welcome to choose whatever four areas of your life matter most. Part 3: A Mirror With a Meaningful Message! Want to make your vision board even more personal? You can choose to include a mirror in the center of your design with a favorite quote, personal mantra, or a few words that inspire you. Imagine looking into that mirror every morning and seeing a message like: “You’ve got this!” “Make it happen!” “Believe in yourself!” Or create your own message that means something special to you! It’s a simple but powerful reminder that the person looking back at you is the one who can turn those dreams into reality. Part 4: Let Your Imagination Take Over! We’ll have plenty of colorful papers, pictures, drawings, inspirational words, and creative materials ready for you! Cut, arrange, mix colors, experiment with different designs, and make your board completely your own. There are no right or wrong designs, and you don’t need to be an artist. We’ll help you along the way, but your creativity gets to lead! Your imagination has no limits!
