Do you celebrate your wins—or play small?Most of us find it easier to promote others than ourselves.We quietly tuck away our own achievements, worried it might sound like bragging.I know that story. Even after growing through challenges like completing a rigorous coaching certification training while working full time, running a marathon, I often catch myself downplaying the effort: “It’s not a big deal.”But recognition matters. Especially for those of us who have felt the weight of self-promotion barriers and imposter syndrome—amplified for immigrants and marginalized groups, yet present everywhere.That’s why I became a certified hashtag#IAmRemarkable facilitator. Launched at Google in 2016, #IAmRemarkable is a global movement that empowers everyone, including underrepresented groups, to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond, while challenging the social perception around self-promotion. Imposter syndrome. Stereotypes. Culture. For many reasons, lots of us feel uncomfortable sharing our achievements.
