Sky to Earth

A journey through free flow somatic movement and music inspired by the sky, completed with a grounding hypnosis sound meditation. Pool is available throughout event. Join us on a somatic journey where attendees will be encouraged to explore movements that make them feel like they are in the air, imagining they are soaring through the wind, all to live music inspired by the sky. Beginning with the ethereal music of Signal 9, who will take us from the outer atmosphere down to the level of the clouds. Then experience the unique free flow all-improv music of Coatimundi, taking us from the clouds to the ground. The night will then transition seamlessly into a deep, earth-inspired guided hypnosis sound meditation, led by Ash, with voice and singing bowls enhancement, connecting attendees firmly to the ground. Hence "Sky to Earth." Coatimundi is an AZ-based improvised somatic flow generator. Much like its namesake, the band is hard to pin down – wild, unpredictable and unlike anything else you’ll stumble across in the Valley. Coatimundi thrives on improvisation. There’s no rigid setlist, no predictable formula. It's a mix of jazz, EDM, classical and experimental. They build something that feels alive in the moment, which is impossible to fake and even harder to forget. Event Details: IMPORTANT NOTE: If you arrive late, gate will be closed, but please come on in, and enter quietly to respect the dance space. REGISTRATION - Please register for the event to have a smooth check-in. Exact address will be provided after registration. ENVIRONMENT: This is an outdoor space! The ground is uneven and there are wood chips/mulch. Wear good shoes. Dress for the weather. We will have cushions to sit around the fire in the Portal of Consciousness (a concrete conversation pit dug into the earth). The first step is deep and there are no handrails. If you need help going up and down, please ask. If you have an unsteady gait, or have any other difficulty, please sit on the benches on the outside of the pit instead and do not attempt to go into the pit by yourself. We have a fire pit for the winter and in the hot summer months, there is an option to jump in the pool if you would like to do that. Please bring a swimsuit and a towel. Please refrain from wearing oil-base sunscreen or other products prior to using the pool. We also do our best to mitigate mosquitos, but DIY natural based spray is available if needed. The pool and pond are unfenced. This may not be a good event to bring young children to. Please check with host. Please leave your animals at home. This is a smoke free, meat free, and sober space. GATHERING SPACE: We believe everyone should have access to a safe community where we can come together in a very conscious way to create the world we want. We host events at the Empower House Community Gathering Space where all people are accepted and loved. We believe when people feel safe and supported, they will naturally practice kindness, feel better, increase their motivation and focus.
