Glimmer / Useless / Threaded

Formed in the spring of 2023, New York-based grungy shoegazers Glimmer spent their first two years releasing a series of well-received singles (to praise from NPR, Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, andCREEMMagazine),landing on official Spotify playlists, and playing countless live shows in both the US and Europe. Now, with the release of their debut LP,GetWeak, the band has proven that not only can they produce heavy-hitting, hook-filled singles, but that their softer, dreamier soundscapes leave just as much of an impression.Recorded in Brooklyn and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile, Superheaven), Glimmer’s new album seamlessly transitions from pop-leaning singles like “Dissolve” and “SorrowAgain” to propulsive, fuzzed-out alt-rock anthems (“BeenDown”) and hazy, etherial ballads (“Bloom.”) With elements of grunge, shoegaze, and dream pop, the album hits on a certain ‘90s nostalgia while still managing to sound fresh and modern.
