Jane Austen Pittsburgh at Woodville Plantation

Tour and potluck tea of this important Whiskey Rebellion site! Join the Jane Austen Society of North America, Pittsburgh Chapter, as we tour the National Historic Landmark Woodville Plantation, an important Whiskey Rebellion (1791-1794) site. While Jane Austen probably never heard of the Rebellion, it was a test of the governing resolve of the newly formed nation, and President George Washington, who owned land in this area, was deeply involved. We'll have a 90 minute tour of Neville House followed by a potluck tea in an adjacent building. Tour and tea go on rain or shine! Cost: $10/person, payable in cash at the door. Limited free parking at the site. Woodville Plantation is about 15 minutes outside Carnegie, PA, off 376 on the way to the airport. Questions?
