Free pizza and meaningful conversation with Meg Casper Sunstrom. Chief Communications Officer for the Louisiana State University System Meg Casper Sunstrom joins us for Pizza & Public Affairs! Our last Pizza & Public Affairs gathering of the semester is sponsored by Teach for America - Greater Baton Rouge. Meg has built a distinguished career in communications, public relations, and journalism, beginning as a television news reporter at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, where she spent nearly a decade. She later served as Communications Director for the Louisiana Department of Education and held communications roles in higher education and at the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office. Meg went on to serve as Chief Communications Officer for the Louisiana Legislature, advising the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate on communications for 144 legislators representing both political parties. She currently serves as Chief Communications Officer for the Louisiana State University System in the Office of President Wade Rousse, where she works with campuses, athletics, foundations, and alumni associations to strengthen and amplify a unified message for the LSU brand. Meg earned her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from LSU after attending Texas Christian University. _________________________________________ The Pizza & Public Affairs series invites students, faculty, and staff from across campus to enjoy free pizza and engage in meaningful conversations with guest speakers, whether a public official, civic leader, public affairs practitioner, or polarization expert. Speakers will share with students how they have achieved successful policy or program outcomes by building coalitions and communicating in a way that bridges division. Pizza & Public Affairs is part of the Common Ground Project, a collaborative effort between the Reilly Center and the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR) to promote civic engagement, bipartisan dialogue, and trust in democratic institutions.
