Champagne Brunch: Monovarietals

One of the most fundamental choices in making Champagne is which grape varieties to use. Seven varieties are permitted by the Champagne A.O.C., but four of them (Arbanne, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Petit Meslie) are used in very small proportions, if at all. In practice, most Champagne is made from the three major varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. This Champagne Brunch will focus on these three grapes, tasting pure expressions of each to explore how they differ when they stand on their own. Each selection will be paired with brunch bites to explore how beautifully Champagne works with food.
