Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas

Join EJC Movie Mavens for a free Chinese food lunch from local restaurant Shandong followed by a screening of Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas. Set almost entirely in a Chinese restaurant, Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas is an offbeat, irreverent musical documentary that tells the story of the group of Jewish songwriters, including Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Jay Livingston, Ray Evans, Gloria Shayne Baker, and Johnny Marks, who wrote the soundtrack to Christmas. “White Christmas,” “Let It Snow,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” — sung in the season and in a Chinese restaurant! What could be better? Stick around after the film for conversation to share your stories of Christmas, Chinese food, or holiday songs!
