Only certified testers can perform the annual backflow assembly test required by the Oregon Plumbing Code and Water Purveyors. The Department of Human Services requires proof of high school diploma or GED certificate in order to complete the certification process. During the class, you will learn to test all approved backflow assemblies. In addition, you will learn proper installation, troubleshooting, and basic repair methods. Classroom Environment: This course is held in a classroom with an open-plan setting and no heating. Please dress appropriately for cold or wet weather conditions as necessary. Required materials: Students should bring written utensils and a notepad, notebook, or paper for note-taking. Prerequisites: A High School Diploma or GED is not required to participate in this workshop. However, it is required when applying for a Backflow/Cross Connection license with the State of Oregon.
