Full description from organizer

An exclusive evening of private dining, historic intrigue, and the unexplained. 8 locations. 74 acres. 10 guests. One extraordinary night. The Night Archive | Entry I: EdgefieldAn intimate evening of history, atmosphere, and the unexplained. Step beyond the ordinary and enter the first chapter of The Night Archive. An exclusive gathering of just ten guests, Entry I combines private dining, archival discovery, and curated exploration of eight locations across one extraordinary historic property. The Setting: McMenamins Edgefield Nestled on 74 acres in Troutdale, Oregon, just outside Portland, McMenamins Edgefield is far more than a historic hotel. Established in 1911 as the Multnomah County Poor Farm, the property later served as a nursing home before being transformed into the destination it is today. For more than a century, Edgefield has witnessed generations of human stories—of hardship, community, celebration, and loss. Today, its historic buildings, gardens, vineyards, and remarkable artwork preserve layers of that past. Alongside its documented history, Edgefield has accumulated accounts of unusual experiences and unexplained occurrences. The Night Archive selected Edgefield not simply for its reputation, but because of our team's own firsthand experiences during previous visits. We invite you to encounter the property with an open mind, consider its history, and discover what impressions it leaves with you. One location. 74 acres. Eight exploration stops. Ten guests. One extraordinary night. Your Entry I Experience Includes An Exclusive Gathering of Just Ten Guests An intimate evening designed for curiosity, conversation, personal discovery, and shared experiences. Private Dining in The Study Begin your evening with a private dining experience featuring a locally sourced dinner and starter, selected Edgefield estate wines, and nonalcoholic beverages in an atmospheric historic setting. The Archivist's Field Guide Receive a specially prepared Field Guide introducing eight exploration locations, their historical background, documented accounts, and reported experiences. Curated Exploration in Small Groups Explore eight selected locations in discreet groups of two or three, using thoughtfully designed routes and archival materials. The Archivist and The Curator will host and facilitate the experience, providing context and support throughout the evening. The Amazing Grace Room — Room 215 Spend time in one of Edgefield's most storied rooms, reserved by The Night Archive for the evening. Guests will have an opportunity to conduct personal observations in small groups during the designated event access period. Your Personal Observation Journal Receive a keepsake journal to record your impressions, observations, and questions, with an opportunity to share your account with The Night Archive afterward. An Experience Without a Scripted Outcome No staged encounters. No manufactured scares. No promised apparitions. Only an extraordinary setting, its history, and the freedom to form your own conclusions. What Makes The Night Archive Different? The Night Archive is not a conventional ghost tour or guided history tour. Our experiences bring together historical research, curated archival materials, intimate gatherings, and opportunities for firsthand observation. The Archivist and The Curator create the framework. The setting and its stories provide the atmosphere. Each guest brings their own curiosity and perspective. We create the conditions. We do not manufacture the outcome. Not everything that happens… ends. Important Guest Information This is an independently organized, privately hosted experience held at McMenamins Edgefield with the property's permission and a formal venue agreement. It is not a McMenamins-operated tour. Exploration is limited to designated, permitted locations and must respect other hotel guests. Overnight accommodations are not included in Entry I. Alcoholic beverages are available only to guests aged 21 or older with valid identification.
