Join us for a community planting day as part of "Our Forests" // Únase para un dia de sembrando comunitaria como parte de Nuestros Bosques (English) Reforestation Planting Day Sunday, November 22 Rain date: December 6 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM (time subject to change) Location: At the painted shipping containers along the Greenway, 133 Aleppo St, Providence, RI 02909. Parking available on the street or at Riverside Park , Aleppo St, Providence, RI 02909, (.25 miles away) DESCRIPTION: • We will be planting some tree saplings and shrubs. These understory plants are an important part of the forest ecosystem. • The planting site is a restored area where we recently removed mugwort (an invasive species) to make space for native plant habitat • If available, we will do "bare root planting" to add many trees to our Greenway and our growing urban forest network. • We are unsure of when the trees will be delivered, but once they are we will need all the help we can get to plant them within 24hrs of arrival! Fill out this form if you want to be involved in bare root tree planting and added to our contact list. What to bring: Wear long pants and close toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. We will provide tools, gloves, snacks, water, and materials. ACCESSIBILITY: This event is run and accessible in both English and Spanish. The nearest accessible bathroom is about .25 miles away at 90 Salmon St (private access). Let us know when you register if you have any accessibility needs so we can accomodate them. Participants explore local woodlands, care for neighborhood trees and understory plants, and connect with the natural environment together. Nuestros Bosques Forest Care Days are about more than just tree care—they’re about building community. Sometimes we’re working hard, and sometimes we’re just vibing: giving back, sharing food, and celebrating with neighbors. Events are free, bilingual (Spanish and English), and open to everyone.
