Full description from organizer

Skip the AI theory. Bring one repetitive business task and build, test, and document an AI-assisted workflow with hands-on mentor support. AI for Small Teams: Build One Workflow - Raleigh Skip the AI theory. Build and test one workflow you can take back to work. AI for Small Teams is a hands-on workshop for business owners and small-team operators who already know that AI exists - but need help deciding where it actually belongs in their day-to-day work. This is not a four-hour lecture about the future of AI. You begin with one recurring task. Then you work on it. Twenty participants rotate through three practical stations covering: • Customer communication • Content workflows • Invoices, reporting, and administrative work Mentors help participants map the workflow, identify where AI can assist, preserve the necessary human review step, and test an appropriate example. The goal is to leave with a workflow you understand well enough to continue testing in your own business. A TESTED WORKFLOW - NOT A GUARANTEED AUTOMATION Different businesses use different software, permissions, data structures, and operating processes. Ashgrove Tech Studio does not guarantee that every attendee will leave with a fully deployed production automation. Some participants may complete a working workflow during the session. Others may leave with a tested prototype and a clearly defined implementation step. BEFORE THE EVENT During registration, answer: Which recurring task is taking more time than it should? Choose the closest category: • Customer Communication • Content Workflow • Invoices / Reporting / Admin • Other Please describe the process without including confidential information. Ashgrove Tech Studio uses registration responses to inform group placement. STATION 1 - CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION Explore workflows such as: • Categorizing common inquiries • Drafting customer-response options • Organizing FAQ information • Preparing routine follow-ups • Identifying when a message needs human attention The workshop does not require AI to send customer-facing messages automatically. A responsible workflow should include an appropriate human review step before consequential communication is sent. STATION 2 - CONTENT Explore repeatable workflows such as: • Notes → outline • Approved source material → draft • One approved message → multiple draft formats • Recurring business update → first draft • Customer questions → content ideas The workshop focuses on repeatable process design rather than bulk automated publishing. STATION 3 - INVOICES, REPORTING & ADMIN Explore workflows such as: • Structured invoice information → categorization • Recurring spreadsheet → summary • Weekly metrics → draft report • Transaction descriptions → exception list • Operational information → structured update The workshop does not authorize payments, provide accounting services, or replace required tax, bookkeeping, or financial review. WHAT YOU WILL BUILD Every participant works toward a: SMALL-TEAM AI WORKFLOW CARD Your workflow identifies: TASK What repeats? TRIGGER What starts the work? INPUT What information is required? AI STEP What can AI assist with? HUMAN CHECK What must a person review? OUTPUT What does the workflow produce? FAILURE CHECK When should the process stop or be reviewed? NEXT WORKFLOW What similar task could be tested next? TIMELINE • 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM Check-In & Workflow Confirmation Confirm the recurring task you want to work on. • 9:15 AM – 9:30 AM Data Safety & Build Framework Learn the workflow structure and what information should not be used during the workshop. • 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM Station 1: Customer Communication • 10:15 AM – 10:20 AM Rotation • 10:20 AM – 11:05 AM Station 2: Content • 11:05 AM – 11:15 AM Break • 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM Station 3: Invoices, Reporting & Admin • 12:00 PM – 12:35 PM Build Your Workflow Apply the workshop framework to the recurring task you selected. • 12:35 PM – 12:50 PM Test & Human-Review Check Run an appropriate test and identify where human judgment remains necessary. • 12:50 PM – 1:00 PM Replication Checklist & Close
