Make the Cut – Create Your Own Patterned Cutting Board

Create a beautiful patterned hardwood cutting board in this two-part woodworking class led by Timothy Weldy! *This is a two-part class with the first session on September 23 and the second session on September 30th, both from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM Using contrasting hardwoods, you’ll learn how to carefully arrange and glue pieces together to create a striking geometric pattern. During the second session, you’ll sand, route, and apply a food-safe finish to complete your board. Session One: Assembly and Glue-Up • Arrange the hardwood pieces to create your pattern • Learn proper glue-up and clamping techniques • Keep the pieces aligned for a clean, consistent design • Prepare the board for final shaping and finishing Session Two: Shaping and Finishing • Flatten and sand the cutting board • Use a router to shape the edges and add the finishing details • Prepare the surface for use • Apply a durable, food-safe finish By the end of the second session, you’ll take home a completed patterned cutting board that is ready to use or give as a handmade gift! Please avoid loose clothing and jewelry. All other materials, tools, and safety equipment are provided.
