Walking Mastermind: Morning Walk, Talk & Connect in RDU (Down Town Cary)

Join our monthly RDU events rotating between Downtown Cary, Durham, and Raleigh, in partnership with Founded Communities and American Underground. Start Your Day With a Walk & Talk Connect, share ideas, and build meaningful relationships with founders, leaders, community builders, connectors, and curious professionals while on the move. A different kind of networking experience: a simple walk, good conversation, and an easier way to meet people without having to work the room. We will meet downstairs at the Cary Founded Lobby. ── ​Bonus: Stay afterward for Cary-Founded Community Day and receive a complimentary coworking pass for the day. Enjoy complimentary coffee and a coffee cart with specialty coffee, and participate in additional activities. ── WHAT TO EXPECT Can I come alone?Absolutely. Many people do. You do not need to know anyone before you arrive. We will pair you with 1–2 people for the Walk & Talk. What should I wear?We keep it casual, whether that’s workout clothes, everyday clothes, or whatever you’re wearing to work that day. It all works! We usually walk about 1 mile at a conversational pace, about a 20–25 minute walk, so wear any shoes you’re comfortable walking in around downtown. No special gear needed. What will we talk about?Each month, we explore a focused theme connected to work, life, and how we navigate both, with a few questions to guide the conversation so you do not have to figure out what to talk about or how to get started. The questions are there to get you started, not to keep you on a script. If your conversation takes you somewhere else worth exploring, follow it. Do I have to introduce myself to everyone?No long introductions and no elevator pitches. We start with a quick welcome + opening question, then move into the Walk & Talk. What if traditional networking is not my thing?There is no pressure to work the room or meet everyone. You will have a focused conversation with 1–2 people while walking side by side. What happens after the walk?We come back together for a brief reflection on the walk and share a few takeaways. After that, you are welcome to stay and continue networking at the coworking space or head to a local coffee shop with someone you met, but you do not have to. 📍 WALKING MASTERMIND Walking Mastermind is a monthly community connection experience designed to help you step away from the day-to-day, explore a focused theme, and gain fresh perspectives through conversation outdoors. You’ll be paired with fellow participants, guided by a few questions, and invited to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and meet new people while you walk. We’ve found that a little structure makes networking easier. The questions are there to get the conversation started, not to keep you on a script, giving you just enough structure to settle into the conversation, learn something about someone new, enjoy the fresh air, and perhaps leave with a new perspective or a conversation worth continuing afterward.
