Nursery and Demonstration Garden Tour Tuesday October 6

A tour of pollinator gardens and demonstration gardens. Join us for a guided tour of our demonstration gardens at the nursery. Our gardens are certified as Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, and as a Monarch Way-Stations by Monarch Watch. We have a small ‘meadow-scape’ or mini-meadow that you can replicate in a small space. You can also wander down to the our American Chestnut research orchard to observe real American chestnuts, and the blight that nearly caused their extinction. We’ll scout the gardens for inspiration, butterflies, garden visitors and other surprises that present themselves to us. Attendees will learn about the importance of native plants to our eco-system. The tour is informal and allows time for questions. This is a great way to be introduced to native plants and to our nursery. The tour lasts approximately an hour. We recommend bringing a sun hat, sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes. This tour is geared towards adults, but all ages are welcome. We ask all children are accompanied by an adult at all times. If we need to cancel this tour due to severe weather, we will notify at the email you used to register for this event. This tour will still happen in the event of light rain (bring an umbrella!) Please note, this event will be filmed for promotional purposes. By attending you are giving us permission to film your participation. The focus of the film will be on the tour guide, but participants may end up being included peripherally.
