Sourdough 101 Workshop

Learn how to make sourdough bread in this intensive hands-on workshop! SUMMARY: This will be a small group workshop (BEGINNER LEVEL) with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Be prepared for a hands-on experience, where you will learn as we go, step-by-step. We will discuss science, food safety, modifications, and health benefits. We will enjoy a sampling of Twisted Carrot Farm sourdough. All supplies will be provided! WHAT YOU'LL TAKE HOME: You will go home with bread dough that you shape yourself during the workshop. This includes a bread basket and towel. We will also be sending everyone home with a small freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread, and a portion of sourdough starter. AFTER CARE: Before signing up, make sure that you will be able to provide the proper "after care" at home for your sourdough following the workshop. You must keep your sourdough refrigerated overnight before baking. We recommend baking your loaf 12-48 hours after the workshop. We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to continue making sourdough at home, and we will be available to answer questions and provide guidance as needed following the workshop. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS: Please make sure you will be able to attend before submitting payment, as we will not be issuing refunds or transfers for cancellations UNLESS we are able to fill your spot. You are also welcome to send someone in your place, if you are no longer able to attend. If you are unable to attend and we are not able to issue you a refund or transfer, you will still be able to come pick up your workshop materials at a later date. This must be scheduled in advance to ensure all materials are available for you when you arrive! ADDITIONAL INFO: ***If the front door is locked when you arrive, please ring the doorbell, and someone will assist you. ***Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Everyone will gather in the indoor market area until we are ready to begin. ***Individuals over 15 years old are welcome to attend. Younger kids must be accompanied by an adult. ***There is no gluten free option for this workshop. If you have a gluten allergy, please do not attend! ***Space will be tight! Please be considerate. We will only have room for individuals accepted into the workshop. No room for extra guests. ***Appropriate attire for this workshop: Hair pulled back and covered with a hat or headband, full length pants, and close-toed non-slip shoes. An apron is optional but recommended. Flour and dough will come out of clothes in the wash, but please be prepared! ***All workshop registrants will be added to the mailing list to receive the monthly newsletter.
