Pursuit of Happiness

A Millennial Matinee of 2010’s club bangers – recession pop, EDM, & hip-hop – in NYC. Matinee Social Club was started by a 30 something that loves to party, but didn’t want to be out all night…so it’s only right to have a 2010s night. In the 2010s, we didn’t know how good we had it. Responsibilities were low while the energy was high. Music was just about letting loose and having a good time. It was this beautiful era where EDM went mainstream and over-the-top recession pop and hip-hop ruled the world. Join us as we bring that feeling back to life. The Venue We're happy to be at The Club by Mr. Purple, which is on the 14th floor of Hotel Indigo Lower East Side. For those who haven't been, it's an impeccably designed club space with west-facing skyline windows. Take a video tour here. The Music A high-energy mix of club bangers from the 2010s – EDM, dance, pop, & hip-hop. Inspo playlist. The Dress Code Vibes preferred, but nothing strict. ===================== About Matinée Love to party, but also love a good night’s rest? (Looking at you millennials 👀) With Matinée, you can have both. It’s a “night time” dance party that lets you have a wild night out…and be home by 11pm. The party starts at 5pm, peaks at 8, over at 10. Oh and we serve pizza around 7:30pm to give you a second wind. Some reviews from past Matinéers… “Omg y’all solved nightlife.” “This is the most fun I’ve ever had before 9pm.’ “I feel way too young to be here” – Gen Z The Matinée Mission Nightlife pretty much only caters to 20 somethings. Matinée wants to change that. We’re working to create a space where our fellow Millennials (and beyond) can step away from adult responsibilities and let loose for a while – creating memories with old friends and hopefully make some new ones. If that sounds like your ideal night, we hope you’ll join us.
