Sewing Machines: How to Make a Tote Bag

Absolute beginners are welcome. Learn how to thread and use a Sewing Machine. Make a Tote bag at NYC Resistor! Learn how to properly operate a sewing machine and make a tote bag. We will cover the basics. This class is designed for absolute beginners. • How a sewing machine works. • How to thread a sewing machine. • Types of stitches. • Stretch vs Non-stretch Fabrics. • Make a liner (the inside outs). • Secure your stitches. • Sewing trouble shooting. We will be using fabric that has been donated to NYC Resistor, but if you would like to bring your own it is encouraged! This class is taught by NYC Resistor member: Olivia founder of Makephilia Workshops. As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is 18+ and governed by our Code of Conduct.
