The Friday Night Jam with Old Time Religion

The Friday Night Jam returns for ane vening of music, conversation and community moderated by Rabbi Dan Ain and Relix's Mike Greenhaus. The Friday Night Jam returns for a performance and conversation with the new Texas Jew-Grass group Old Time Religion. Old Time Religion (OTR) celebrates the scriptures and traditions of the Hebrew People, drawing upon Southern Gospel, Black Spiritual, Tin-Pan Alley and Bluegrass music. OTR seeks to re-ignite the spirit of the Old Testament in a style that is authentic to the culture that we, as Americans, live. Standing upon this musical heritage OTR seeks to intertwine song and scripture into an experience that uplifts and enlightens. Provides space for contemplation. And makes you want to get up out of your seat and clap your hands and sing along. Moderated by Rabbi Dan Ain and Mike Greenhaus, Editor-in-Chief Relix, The Friday Night Jams offer an opportunity to connect with some of our favorite artists. Past participants have included The Preservation Jazz Band, Guster’s Ryan Miller, Craig Finn, Aron Magner, Jackie Greene, Sinkane, Rubblebucket, Matisyahu, Chris Robinson, Ace of Cups, Antibalas, Lisa Loeb, The Sway Machinery and Patti Smith Group guitarist Lenny Kaye and more.Friday Night Jams Exploring the deep connection between ritual, music and faith.
