DTE Dance Collective - Open Floor Night!

Open Floor Night — Think open mic for dancers! Open Floor Night is an intimate evening of live dance and movement performance featuring a diverse mix of dancers, choreographers, and movement artists from across the community. Founded by Cristi Mason-Rivera, Down to Earth Dance Collective was created to build more opportunities for adult dancers and movement artists to connect, perform, take creative risks, and share what they love in a welcoming, noncompetitive environment. Expect a variety of styles, backgrounds, and experience levels — from emerging performers to seasoned dancers — all sharing the floor in one night of creative expression. Our first Open Floor Night had everything from ballroom, west coast swing, salsa and salsa Rueda to contemporary contortion, hula, hip-hop and breakdancing! Make a night of it! Downtown Salem’s First Friday Art Walk begins at 5:00 PM, so come early, explore downtown, and grab a bite to eat at Venti’s downstairs before the show. October 2, 2026 Doors open at 7:00 PM Show begins promptly at 7:30 PM The evening will include a 15-minute intermission, with treats and water available for purchase. Stick around after the performances and hit the dance floor! Our live DJ will keep the music going for open dancing until 10:30 PM. Open Floor Night is designed primarily for an adult audience, though children are welcome to attend. Seating is limited and offered in multiple ticket tiers.
