Local stationery artist Maddie Peterson will guide you through the art of creating decorative wax seals and incorporating them into your own personalized cards. Explore techniques including marbled wax, metallic accents, gold leaf and layered colors as you experiment with different stamps, papers and embellishments. Choose from holiday-inspired or everyday designs to create something uniquely yours. Whether you're making a thoughtful holiday card, adding a personal touch to a special occasion or simply trying something new, this beginner-friendly workshop offers plenty of room to get creative. Your $45 ticket includes: • Two hours of hands-on instruction with Maddie Peterson • An introduction to wax sealing techniques, including marbling, metallic painting, gold leaf and layered colors • A selection of wax seal stamps, colors and decorative materials • Paper and cardmaking supplies to create your own personalized stationery • Guidance on applying wax seals and adding finishing touches • Time to experiment, practice and create at your own pace All project supplies are provided. Choose from holiday-inspired or everyday designs as you explore techniques like marbling, metallic painting, gold leaf and layered colors. Maddie will demonstrate different wax sealing methods, including how to create marbled effects, highlight intricate designs with gold and layer colors for added dimension. You’ll have time to practice each technique, experiment with different combinations and add finishing touches to your cards. Each wax seal and card will reflect your personal style, making every creation unique. You’ll leave with handmade stationery to share or keep, along with techniques you can continue using for future creative projects. Instructor | Maddie Peterson Maddie Peterson is the artist and owner of La Madeleine Studio, a Salt Lake City-based boutique stationery studio specializing in hand-painted invitations, signage and custom designs. Upon arrival, attendees will check in with a Craft Lake City representative, gather the necessary supplies from the instructor and select a seat.All participants must be seated no later than five minutes before the workshop begins. Craft Lake City strives to provide a high-quality making experience during every workshop. This policy ensures that participants have adequate time to learn, create and enjoy the activity. Waitlist Policy Craft Lake City workshops frequently sell out. Spots may occasionally become available when registered participants do not attend, and these openings are offered to individuals on the workshop waitlist.To join the on-site waitlist, please arrive 15 minutes before the workshop and check in with a Craft Lake City representative. Individuals will be added to the waitlist in the order they arrive.Five minutes before the workshop begins, Craft Lake City may invite waitlisted individuals to purchase tickets on site and take the place of absent participants. Placement is not guaranteed. Cancellation and Transfer Policy Craft Lake City cannot offer refunds or exchanges, but workshop tickets are transferable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a friend, family member or another individual interested in the workshop. The person attending in your place must arrive 15 minutes before the workshop and present a printed or electronic copy of the ticket along with the original ticket holder’s name to a Craft Lake City representative. --------------------------------------- Parking is available at The Gateway, where the first hour is free and parking is $2 after that.
