Dolly & Denim at the Utah Capitol

Honor Dolly's memory with a fun gathering around her greatest legacy: helping children learn to read Join us at the Utah Capitol for an evening of music, dancing, dirty sodas, and meaningful ways to celebrate reading and honoring Dolly's life and legacy! Featuring a keynote from Sheri Dew, this is a party about reading you won't want to miss! Guests will be invited to share favorite reading memories, discover ways to support early literacy, and add their voices to the conversation around giving every child early access to books. You're invited to come dressed in your best Dolly-inspired look, whether that's a big blonde up-do or some classic blue jeans! Only half of Utah's 3rd graders are reading at or above grade level. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is taking off here in Utah and is an important part of setting up our future 3rd graders for success by increasing a child's home library and time reading together with a caregiver. Dolly's Imagination Library does just that! For attendance, a donation is requested with all funds going to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Operation Literacy is Dollywood Foundation's Utah statewide affiliate, meaning your donation will go straight to children in Utah. The donation amount is up to you, starting at $1.00. We invite a donation of $31.20, to cover the cost of one child's Imagination Library books for a whole year! Your night out can become a child’s year of reading. I can't wait to see you! XOXO, Kristin Andrus Because the ticket price is a donation, we cannot fulfill refund requests for this event. This is part of Kristin's quarterly event series, Brave and Bold.
