The Witches' Thanksgiving - An Autumn Equinox Potluck

Gather around the fire for a witchy Autumn Equinox feast. Bring a dish to share - we'll bring the drinks, fire, and good company! The Witches’ Thanksgiving 🍂🔥 The Autumn Equinox is a threshold. For a brief moment, day and night meet in balance before the darkness begins to claim more of the hours. The fields have given what they had to give. The gardens are heavy with their final harvests. The work of the growing season begins to give way to the work of gathering, preserving, resting, and turning inward. For generations, people have marked this turning of the year by gathering together, sharing the harvest, giving thanks, and acknowledging the relationship between what the earth provides and what we, in turn, give back. That is what The Witches’ Thanksgiving is about. Witches Brew Coffee is providing space for an evening of food, fire, creativity, music, and community as we welcome the darker half of the year. There is no admission fee and no expectation that you follow a particular spiritual path. You are simply invited to come gather with us. 🍂 A Table of Plenty At the heart of the evening will be a shared community potluck dinner. Bring something to place on the table and share with everyone else. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or homemade. What matters is the act of bringing something from your own stores and contributing it to the whole. We provide the space and the drinks; our community creates the feast. 🔥 Fire & Fellowship We’ll have a fire going throughout the evening, with wood provided by Witches Brew. Come sit around it. Talk. Listen. Sing. Tell stories. Make new friends. Stay for a while or wander between the fire, the table, and the trail. 🌲 Walk the Turning Season A nature trail will be available for those who want to take a walk, find some quiet, or simply spend time outside as the season changes around us. The Equinox is a good reminder that we don’t have to rush through the transition. We can actually notice it. 🌿 The Gorsedd For those who wish to participate, we’ll gather for a Gorsedd - a communal circle centered around poetry, song, storytelling, and the spoken word. The Gorsedd tradition has deep roots in Welsh culture, particularly in gatherings of bards and those who keep and share the arts of poetry, music, and storytelling. For our evening, it becomes a space for the creative voice of our own community. You may bring a poem you’ve written, a story you’ve carried, a song you’d like to sing, a drum or instrument if you’d like to play, or simply your voice and your willingness to listen. Creatives of all kinds are welcome. This is a gathering, not a stage. No talent is required. No performance is expected. If you have something to share, there will be room for it. ☕ Witches Brew Will Provide We’ll take care of the venue, firewood, and hot and cold beverages for the evening. You bring the food and whatever gifts of creativity or community you’d like to share. Everyone Is Welcome The Witches’ Thanksgiving isn’t about getting everything right or observing a prescribed tradition. It’s about recognizing where we are in the turning of the year. We give thanks for what has grown - for the food we’ve harvested, the work we’ve accomplished, the relationships we’ve cultivated, and the things that have sustained us through the brighter months. And as we enter the darker half of the year, we acknowledge that giving and receiving are part of the same cycle. What we take from the earth, we eventually return. What we receive from our community, we have the opportunity to give back. So we’ll gather around the table. We’ll tend the fire. We’ll share what we have. We’ll raise our voices. We’ll tell our stories. And we’ll welcome the turning of the season together.
