Turkish Mosaic Lamp Making Class in San Antonio, TX

Turn hand-cut glass into a glowing lamp you can take home, right here in San Antonio. If you're looking for something more creative than dinner and a movie in San Antonio, this Turkish mosaic lamp workshop gives you a glass lamp form, a table full of colorful tiles, and about 2 hours to make something you'll keep for years. After a quick look at traditional Turkish designs, you'll choose from ready-made templates and gather the colors you want to work with. From there, it's hands-on: placing glass tiles and beads one at a time, with your instructor nearby to help with pattern ideas and technique. Between tiles, sip complimentary Turkish coffee and enjoy traditional baklava, a small taste of the hospitality that goes with this craft. Bring a date, your friends, your coworkers, or your family. It works as well for a birthday or bachelorette as it does for a holiday party or team-building day. Kids 8 and up are welcome with an adult. Sessions take place at Working Moms of San Antonio, with free parking on site. The convenient Wurzbach Road location makes it an easy creative outing for guests from across San Antonio, with plenty of nearby shopping and dining options to make a full day of it. When you're done, switch on your lamp, watch the colored glass scatter light across the room, and take your finished piece home.
