AHMED AL-KADRI: LIVE IN SAN DIEGO

Ahmed mixes his Yemeni-American upbringing, family, cultural differences, and the everyday absurdities of life into relatable comedy. AHMED AL-KADRI: LIVE IN SAN DIEGO Saturday, December 5 • 5 PM Ahmed Al-kadri is a Yemeni-American comedian based in Los Angeles who dreamed of becoming an accountant — until, as he tells it, his immigrant parents forced him into the far less practical career of comedy. Growing up in Dallas as one of six kids, Ahmed learned early how to get laughs, doing impressions of his family, Turkish soap operas, and Mr. Bean before eventually discovering improv and stand-up. After getting his start at Dallas Comedy House, Ahmed performed improv, sketch, and stand-up around the country before moving to Los Angeles to pursue comedy full-time. Since then, he’s built a huge online following with viral sketches including “Roommates with Anxiety,” “Arab at an Indian Wedding,” “Arab Roommate,” and “F-Boi Rehab,” the latter of which was featured by BuzzFeed and DankMemes. He’s also appeared on FOX’s Love Connection and the web series David Diamondhands. Onstage, Ahmed mixes his Yemeni-American upbringing, family, relationships, cultural differences, and the everyday absurdities of life into comedy that’s sharp, personal, and ridiculously relatable.
