And on October 17th, they bring those songs to a sanctuary perched above the Pacific in La Jolla. The Workshop, October 18 @ 4pm Interactive Medicine Music Workshop with Curawaka How does music become medicine, and how do we learn to create it for ourselves? For one afternoon, the four musicians of Curawaka open their signature practice and teach it. This is intimate and hands-on. Anna Bariyani, Tavo Vazquez, Alberto Arroyo and Dario Santamaria Romero each share the gift of their instrument and tradition, guiding the room through breath, rhythm, and melody. Together, we explore the music’s cultural roots and the art of authenticity, spontaneity, and the simple joy of play. It closes the way these gatherings always do: in a singing circle and open jam where everyone takes part.
