Intro to Laser Cutting

Instructor: Nathan Learn how to use the Sandbox’s laser cutter to cut and engrave. We’ll introduce the makerspace, explore what the laser cutter can do and which materials it can cut or engrave, and cover safe operation. This workshop covers the first steps toward laser-cutter approval. You’ll return for a separate final approval before using the laser cutter independently. No previous experience is needed. Before you arriveYou’ll need a Sandbox account before using the makerspace. If you don’t already have one, create your Sandbox account in advance so you can spend more time making when you arrive. If your plans changeOur workshops fill quickly, and places are limited. Please register only if you expect to attend, and cancel your Luma registration as soon as you know you can’t make it. That gives another member of the UC San Diego community a chance to participate.
