Join us for Mind of Nature: Community • Play • Upcycling • Action, an official San Diego Climate Week event uniting the energy of grassroots soccer, circular design, live art, and local environmental action. Experience four dynamic interactive zones featuring on-pitch soccer skills challenges, live custom calligraphy and foiling by Alex Hersch (@signedbyalex.co), an interactive climate commitment art wall, specialty coffee, local food vendors, and a vibrant community market highlighting local upcyclers and creatives. Featured Speakers & Community Voices Join us for a dynamic, 30–40 minute panel conversation bridging athletics, grassroots culture, and circular environmental action: Jessica Toth (Executive Director, Solana Center for Environmental Innovation): Speaking on textile waste, material circularity, and creative diversion from landfills. Lina Taylor (2x Olympian & Executive Coach): Speaking on athlete advocacy and using sports platforms to amplify grassroots climate solutions. Brian Hoffman (Founder, Surf Club / Sustainable Mobility Advocate): Sharing insights at the intersection of sports and community sustainability, along with displaying his custom E-Bike Cargo Prototype on the pitch! (Note: Discussion topics will be tailored and finalized as we approach event week.) Bring a pair of used soccer cleats to donate or swap at the Community Cleat Collective, where we give footwear another game by collecting, sorting, and reintroducing gear back into the community. Whether you are coming to kick a ball, support local makers and artists, grab a drink, or commit to a more sustainable future, there is a place for everyone on the pitch.
