Proudly We Served: An Afternoon Honoring Our Veterans

Reception honoring the 18 veterans featured in PROUDLY WE SERVED, San Diego’s first permanent digital collection of Latino veteran stories. The Latino Legacy Foundation invites you to a special Hispanic Heritage Month Reception & Program honoring the 18 veterans whose stories launched PROUDLY WE SERVED, San Diego's first permanent digital collection of Latino veteran stories. Reception includes hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary beverage of your choice followed by a program celebrating and preserving the stories of San Diego Latino veteran stories. Casual Dressy Attire. Parking is free. ABOUT THE EVENT On October 14, we will bring together our inaugural veterans and their families, sponsors, community and special dignitaries for a special Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. We will honor our PROUDLY WE SERVED veterans for their military service and contributions to our community. Each veteran will be presented with their own PROUDLY WE SERVED portrait—a lasting tribute for them and their families. ABOUT THE COLLECTION Through personal video interviews, Latino veterans shared—in their own words—their military service, sacrifices and experiences, as well as the contributions they made to our community after returning to civilian life. And with each new story, we preserve another important chapter of San Diego history for future generations. PROUDLY WE SERVED debuted on June 30 with the stories of 18 San Diego Latino veterans and is permanently housed on the Latino Legacy Foundation website: www.latinolegacyfoundation.org The collection is free and accessible to veterans and their families, students, educators and the public.
