BATS’ 40th Anniversary Celebration 11/13/26 [SHO]

BATS is turning 40! Please raise the roof with us on November 13 for BATS’ 40th Anniversary Celebration. This elegant and playful evening will honor our four decades of improvisational innovation, play and joy that have lit up our stages, sparked our classrooms and brought our ever-growing community together for stories and discovery. Dress in your own marvelous version of cocktail attire and let’s all reunite with friends, artists, alumni, and the many lovely people who have shaped BATS through every era. We’ll have a delicious catered buffet supper, thoughtfully prepared to welcome a range of dietary needs, as well as an array of beverages and desserts. Throughout the evening we’ll applaud all things BATS: from the founders and early voices of the1980s (!) through to the artists who are reimagining BATS today. Let’s gather to compare stories, laugh, connect or reconnect, be amazed at photos that mark the decades, take new photos, and dance in “what comes next.” Come raise a glass to honor our past—and imagine the future together! Wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking: Fort Mason provides accessible parking spaces and entrances for visitors with disabilities. Accessible restrooms: ADA-compliant restrooms are available throughout the facility. If you need specific accommodations or have unique accessibility concerns, please email us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to assist. Content Advisory Improv can be unpredictable! Every performance is made up on the spot, so we’re unable to provide formal content ratings or advance warnings about specific material. Adult language or situations may arise during a performance, even though we generally don't seek them out gratuitously. When there are planned elements of content that audiences should know about, our show descriptions will note that, such as Improvised Kung Fu, which likely will contain improvised stage combat. A Note to Parents We want you to be aware that younger audience members may encounter some new words and situations during the performance. Most BATS shows are great for teens and adventurous middle-schoolers, but may occasionally include adult situations, language, or mature themes. Parents and guardians are encouraged to use their best judgment based on what their child typically enjoys. Refund Policy: Sorry no refunds for our shows at this time. Cancellation Policy: An event can only be canceled by the venue and/or event organizer. If the venue or event organizer cancels an event, you will be refunded within 4 business days of the event date for your purchase.
