Rogelio López & Dancers presents Entre Mucho Machismo Hay Pocos Machos September 18-19 at 8pm, September 20th at 4pm Tickets: General Admission $30 Entre Mucho Machismo Hay Pocos Machos is a dance theater work that tells the story of a Queer Mexican folklórico dancer on a journey toward self-love amid a romantic relationship with a closeted fellow dancer. The work is structured like a traditional romantic dramedy telenovela - boy meets boy, boy falls in love with boy, boy loses self, boy loses boy (but finds himself) - and takes place in the folklorico community, where normative masculinity continues to be performed and policed. Accessibility: Dance Mission Theater is located on the second floor and is accessible by an elevator or approximately 20 stairs (there is a handrail). If you do decide to drive, give yourself time to find parking as it can be difficult. The closest parking lot is at 21/Bartlett Streets, about a 5 min walk from the theater.
