She creates in the mediums of photography, film, spoken word, commercials, and web tv. shantre.comBlackMaria Microcinema IIThe BlackMaria Microcinema II is a 30-seat gallery and microcinema in San Francisco's Tenderloin. A space dedicated to the study of image, sound, and audience, BlackMaria approaches cinema as study, discourse, and disruption. The space hosts screenings, artist talks, exhibitions, and RDA (Rooted in Decolonization and Abstract Thinking) classes that cultivate radical approaches to film and storytelling. Named after Thomas Edison's first film production studio, the original Black Maria, founder Maria Judice reclaims its legacy to challenge exclusionary cinema histories—asking whose stories are told, who gets to tell them, and how we remain rooted in ourselves when telling them.
