Faerie Folk & Prog Frog - An Evening of Nature Loving Folk and Jazz

Faerie Folk is on tour from Portland, OR and will be joined by the Bay Area's own progressive folk band, Prog Frog, for a special evening of fine, nature-inspired live music. Faerie Folk is a folk music group created by pianist/composer Troll Hart, whose repertoire is based primarily in traditional Irish reels and jigs. The trio also explores soundtrack excerpts from popular medieval fantasy media, along with original neo-classical and folk music compositions. With the incredible Jotunn Aldas on the violin/fiddle and the lovely Joy Joye on vocals, Faerie Folk transports listeners beyond the realm of man with their music of majesty, refinement, and devotion to Mother Earth. Sporting influence and expertise from decades of classical, jazz, and Celtic music backgrounds, Troll, Jotunn, and Joy are an inspirational group brought together by love of organic music, and are excited to share that love with you! Faerie Folk's recorded music and artwork can be found at www.treetemplemusic.com Prog Frog (Eli Carlton-Pearson, Tommy O’Mahony, Ali Rucker) has a unique but coherent sound, drawing from wide-ranging influences, including 70’s prog rock (Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd), alternative folk (Nick Drake, Elliot Smith), Irish traditional music (Tommy Peoples, Paul Brady), modern jazz (Brad Mehldau, The Bad Plus), and spiritual jazz (Alice Coltrane, Pharaoh Sanders). Prog Frog released their debut EP, “Frog Prog,” on Bandcamp, cassette, and streaming platforms in 2024. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door general admission; $15 for students/low-income individuals. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show. Doors open 30 minutes before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door. The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds.
