Found Company: A Spontaneous Staged Reading Event

Come meet people, act onstage, create and present short staged-reading performances with a one-day theater ensemble. Description You are invited to a one-of-a-kind theater experience: be a part of a one-day play performance! Mission StageWorks invites you to experience the joy of acting and playing onstage. Here’s your chance to connect, learn, and play in a radically inclusive space. Never been on stage? Getting back into acting? Just like to perform? Perfect! This low pressure environment is designed to meet people, create characters, play during rehearsal, and present short staged-reading performances with a short-term theater ensemble. Come for the love of art. Leave with found company. Accessibility At Mission Stageworks, we are about generating community through creative play. For Found Company at the Eclectic Box, we are committed to ensuring our event is welcoming and accessible for our attendees. Space & Seating • All activities will take place on the stage which is at ground level and wheelchair accessible, including any gender bathrooms. • Folding seats are arranged in small groups and semi-circle. • The visual environment will feature soft, theatrical lighting. • The auditory environment will include upbeat music that is kept at a low volume. During the program, participants may perform characters that speak loudly. • We will supply key materials, including physical scripts, pens. Vibe • The vibe of the play reading is designed to be low pressure. • Participation is flexible, and anyone is allowed to perform a role for a shorter or longer periods of time. • We offer a 1:1 channel for any private questions you may have. • Signage will be provided to explain the event alongside a description accessibility considerations. • In our pursuit of a supportive environment, we will announce our collective working norms and ethical collaboration practices. Arrival & Parking • BART train: Take BART to the 16th Street Mission station, go one block north to Valencia Street, turn right. Eclectic Box is located between 15th & 16th Streets. • Parking: Street parking is limited however, you can park at the 16th and Hoff Garage at 15 Hoff Street. • The Eclectic Box is a building with bright blue with pink detailing. Ticketing Mission StageWorks offers tickets on a sliding scale. At this event, you have the following options: • Pay It Forward = $40 • Standard Rate = $30 • Introductory Rate = $20 • Bring A Friend 2-for-1 = $20 (two tickets for the price of one) Mission StageWorks is committed to making our events accessible to our entire community. Language This event will be facilitated in English. At this event: • Mission StageWorks is not recording any video or audio at any point. • We first ask permission to take a photo. Accepting or denying photo consent is part of the process. • We will ask participants if they wish to be named or identified in the photo. • We will ask participants if they wish to be shared publicly or not (via the MSW website or any press).
