Khartoum: Community Screening & Discussion

As Sudan's so-called "forgotten war" rages on, Nafeer invites you to a screening of an award-winning window into the world that was KHARTOUM Five lives, one city, a nation at war. A civil servant, a tea lady, a resistance committee volunteer and two street boys. Five stories from Sudan weave together in search of freedom through animated dreams, street revolutions and a war from the metropolis of Khartoum to escape in East Africa. A film by Anas Saeed, Rawia Alhag, Ibrahim Snoopy, and Timeea M.Ahmed with Yousef Jubeh and Phil Cox The Nafeer Collective was formed to bring the fight against militarization, imperialism, and counter-revolution in Sudanese society to the Bay Area. In a world of empire, collective solidarity with the Sudanese people becomes an indispensable tool in the fight for Sudanese liberation.
