Meet the Mountain Fair

Come "meet the mountain" on September 26th: a show-and-tell, science fair, art show, makerspace, and mountain-meet-and-greet! On Saturday, September 26th, San Bruno Mountain Watch is excited to welcome you to the first "Meet the Mountain Fair" at the Mission Blue Center in Brisbane between 11am and 5pm! This free community gathering will be a celebration of San Bruno Mountain, with opportunities for everyone—from new park visitors to long-time mountain explorers—to learn more about its ecology, history, and stewardship. There will be: • workshops led by experienced teachers, including botanical illustration. • display of ikebana flower arrangements with native plants • exhibits of mountain art and photography • short film screenings about the mountain • lectures and presentations about the mountain's flora, fauna, history, and restoration projects happening on the mountain • mobile native plant displays from Mission Blue Nursery—and free plants! • microscopes for close observation of natural materials from the mountain • powerful viewing scopes for looking out at the mountain from the Mission Blue Center • kids activities • information tables • environmental library lounge • food, drinks, and more! Consider it a show-and-tell, science fair, art show, makerspace, mountain-meet-and-greet, and party, all in one fun day!
