Women in Climate: Building a Resilient Future

Join Gridware, Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC), and Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) Bay Area for an evening exploring what it takes to build a more climate-resilient future and the women who are paving the way. As climate-driven extreme weather intensifies and critical infrastructure ages, building more resilient communities, economies, and systems has never been more urgent. What does it mean to build a resilient future, and how are women leading that work? How can we strengthen infrastructure while ensuring that investments benefit the communities most affected by the impacts of climate change, like wildfires, flooding, and heat? What role can policy and emerging technologies play in creating safer, more reliable, and equitable systems? Hear from Merrian Borgensen – our keynote speaker – and a panel of women from diverse sectors about how they’re approaching resilience and the connections between their work. The evening will be followed by networking with fellow climate and clean energy professionals. Who should attend? This event is designed to foster community and connection among women and non-binary graduate students and young professionals interested in climate, energy, and natural resources.
