ABOUT DEREK DAVIS & THE REVOLUTIONARY SOULS Vocalist/Frontman, Derek Davis is one of the few musicians that can stake the claim of being a signed recording artist by the legendary music mogul “Clive Davis” who signed his band Babylon A.D. to a recording contract with Arista Records at a private showcase in Los Angeles! While at Arista Records, Babylon A.D. released two critically acclaimed albums: The self-titled “Babylon A.D.” in 1990, which reached gold status and “Nothing Sacred” in 1992. The band's first release produced three Top 10 songs on the A.O.R Metal charts: “Bang Go the Bells,” “Hammer Swings Down,” and “Kid Goes Wild” which featured the screaming comedian “Sam Kinison” and was the trailer track and video for Orion Pictures film “RoboCop 2”. The band’s sophomore release “Nothing Sacred” produced two more Top 10 metal rockers: “Bad Blood” and “So Savage The Heart.” With strong video rotation on MTV and constant touring, Babylon A.D. soon became one of hard rock fans’ most popular bands. Since 1990 the band has recorded 10 albums, including the 2024 “Rome Wasnt Built In A Day" on Perris Records and 2025s "When The World Stops” from Kivel Records and is still active today. A 6-figure publishing/songwriting deal with Virgin Music EMI, Davis has been fortunate to write songs and collaborate on various music projects with many notable songwriters and producers such as Jack Ponti (Alice Cooper and Bon Jovi), Tom Werman (Motley Crue and Cheap Trick), Taylor Rhodes (Aerosmith), Gene Black (Rod Stewart), and Michael Anthony (Van Halen). Over the years, Davis has showcased his extraordinary singing, songwriting, and musicianship in several areas. He has had several songs recorded by signed artists as well as having songs placed in motion pictures and TV. Other music endevours by Derek Davis include the critically aclaimed band Moonshine! His band Moonshine recorded their self-titled album at the infamous 5150 studios, Eddie Van Halen's personal recording studio. Appearances by Micheal Anthony, Jane Child and Buzzy James created a buzz that lasts today. To date Derek has released 15 records including three solo albums ‘Revolt’, ‘Revolutionary Soul’ and 'Resonator Blues’ which produced 2 top 10 Blues Chart Hits. He is the consummate showman and has done extensive tours across the U.S and Europe. Kyle Bates - Lead Guitarist, was groomed by some of the finest guitar players from a young age. He has played professionally on the west and east coasts for more than 30 years. A signed artist and session player for many bands throughout the U.S including the MC Hammer label RWI, Kyle is also a guitar instructor with many students and has also recorded on all three of Derek Davis’s solo albums as well as the new upcoming release “Let's Funk It Up”. Keyboardist - Christopher Patton, comes from a large family line of musicians tracing his roots all the way back to one of the blues founding father’s, the great Charles Patton. He is an accomplished Piano/Keyboard player and singer. He is also an accomplished producer and songwriter with many album credits as well as leader of his own super charged ‘Charlie Patton Jazz Trio'. Bass Player - Doc Robinson, is a multitalented musician hailing from the Bay Area, known for his skills as a bassist, vocalist, drummer, recording artist and producer. With a career spanning over 30 years, Doc has established himself as a respected figure in the local music scene, playing with renowned artists such as Tony Lindsey (Santana) and Tom Politzer (Tower of Power). In 2012, Doc founded his dream contemporary jazz band, Stratify, a 9-piece funk jazz project that released their debut album "Smooth Your Mood, Funk Your Groove" in 2021. The album features the hits "Should I Go Should I Stay" and "Change of Season,”and established his band as a top Bay Area draw. Drummer - Rob Rhodes, is one of the most sought after drummers around for recording and performing. He can play it all: Jazz, Rock, Soul, Latin, Blues, and Funk. Rob has played and recorded with more than 30 recognized major performers, such as Marry Wilson/Supremes, Ledisi, Robin Duhe/Maze, Joyce Cooling, The R&B All Stars, Shane Dwight and so many more.
