Full description from organizerShow less
For over 30 years, TGR has defined ski and snowboard filmmaking. The 2026 film features world-class athletes and cinematography. $10 etnry — fully redeemable for a $10 Sports Basement gift card at check-in. A blast of early‑season stoke never hurt anyone, and Sports Basement is about to crank it to eleven. Come kick off winter with a ski and snowboard movie night that’ll have you itching to click into your bindings before the credits roll. Expect big lines, deep turns, rowdy energy, and a room full of people who are just as fired up for the season as you are. Roll through, get hyped, and while you’re there, gear up for the best winter yet, because nothing pairs with a good ski flick like fresh kit for opening day. About the Film Actually, It Is Rocket Science is the newest chapter in TGR’s ongoing study of the fall line, told through the world’s best skiers as they turn the mountain into a laboratory and every descent into an experiment. The study spans Bute Inlet, British Columbia; Haines, Alaska; Japan; Finland; Andorra; Montana; Jay Peak, Vermont; and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Different mountains, snowpacks, conditions, and approaches—but the same forces are always at work: speed, gravity, instinct, and consequence. Actually, It Is Rocket Science is a tongue-in-cheek look at the seemingly reckless abandon that many of the world's best snow athletes display as they push the physics of what is possible. Athletes explore the intricacies of dissecting a big mountain line, the physics and amplitude of a massive gap, calculating transition, and the force of gravity. So, is it rocket science—or is it not? Watch closely and decide for yourself. Locations Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Haines Alaska, British Columbia, Japan, Finland, Andorra, Jay Peak, Vermont, Montana Athletes Kelly Hilleke, Teal Harle, Colter Hinchliffe, Kai Jones, Maggie Voisin, Nick McNutt, Parkin Costain, Karl Fostvedt, Keegan Killbride, Tim Durtschi, Thibault Magnin, Anna Tedesco, Tucker Carr, Wyatt Gentry, Lalo Rambaud, Jasper Skidmore, Daniel Johnson, Jerermy Emmer, Rylan Messner, Andrew Bird, Dylan "Dro" Roide, Nicholas Johnson, Luke Price, Seamus O'niell, Andreya Zvonar, Jackson Lalla , Adrian Hayden, Bode Tracy
