Founded in 1890 by five families in Haro’s historic train station district, La Rioja Alta is one of Rioja’s most celebrated and enduring producers, renowned for its commitment to tradition, meticulous craftsmanship, and extended aging. Crafted primarily from Tempranillo, the winery’s distinguished portfolio includes Viña Alberdi, Viña Ardanza, and Viña Arana, as well as the iconic Gran Reserva 904 and Gran Reserva 890, two exceptional wines that pay tribute to the bodega’s founding and storied history. From its own cooperage to the traditional practice of manual racking, La Rioja Alta continues to uphold the time-honored techniques that define its elegant, age-worthy wines.
