Tangos 4 Daze/ Flamenco Workshop

Four day flamenco workshop with dance, cante & live guitar in earthy, rhythmic tangos style for absolute beginners to experienced flamencos TANGOS 4 DAZE Four Flamenco Workshops for All Levels — Including Absolute Beginners Come spend four classes inside Tangos — one of flamenco’s most joyful, earthy, sensual, rhythmic and accessible forms. Dance + Cante with Laishy Live Guitar by Kiel Siler Saturday/Sunday October 10/11 & 24/25 1:00–2:30 PM Flamenco Romántico Studio — Soquel, CA Tangos 4 Daze is designed for all levels, from people trying flamenco for the very first time to experienced dancers who want more time inside compás, cante and live accompaniment. Across all four workshops, we’ll keep returning to the same essential ingredients — building them gradually and using them together rather than treating each class as a separate topic. We’ll explore: • Groove + compás — finding the rhythm in the body and learning how Tangos feels, not just how it counts. • Flamenco movement + vocabulary — body, arms, weight changes, transitions and accessible movement phrases. • Feet + rhythm — footwork that can be adapted for different experience levels. • Cante + listening — beginning to hear how the singing works, where the dance lives inside the music, and how a dancer can respond. • Live guitar + cante — learning how movement, singing and guitar communicate with each other in real time. Every class will include a mixture of these elements, with material adjusted so that beginners have a clear place to start while dancers with more experience can work with greater detail, musicality and complexity. No previous flamenco experience is required. If you already have experience in another dance form — ballet, modern, belly dance, jazz, folklórico, etc. — but are new to flamenco, you are very welcome. Come for the class. Leave thinking, dancing & singing Tangos 4 Daze. Current Flamenco Romántico students receive a special community rate for the full Tangos 4 Daze series — contact Laishy directly for registration details.
