Join Sempervirens Fund for a volunteer day at Cotoni-Coast Dairies, removing invasive plant species and protecting our coastline Event description: Join Sempervirens Fund for a hands-on volunteer day at Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument! Help remove invasive plant species along the entrance and first loop trail, protecting coastal habitats and nearby redwood forests. Work alongside fellow volunteers to support a healthier ecosystem stretching from the coast to the Santa Cruz Mountains. What to Expect: -This work will involve bending, lifting, and repeated walking, primarily in exposed areas. -Sempervirens Fund will provide all necessary training and tools. Volunteers must bring their own water, lunch, and snacks. -Event is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions or low enrollment. Important Information: -Facilities & Parking: There is a free parking lot with a restroom at the trailhead on Cement Plant Road, but there is no drinking water available. -Much of the park area is completely exposed, so be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat. -Coastal areas can see increased wind, rain, and cold. Please check the weather and be prepared for a variety of conditions. Driving Directions by Region: -From San Francisco / Peninsula: Take I-280 South, exit onto CA-92 West toward Half Moon Bay, and turn left onto CA-1 South. Follow CA-1 South down the coast until you pass Davenport. -From the East Bay: Take I-880 South to San Jose, transition to CA-17 South toward Santa Cruz, and then merge onto CA-1 North toward Half Moon Bay/Davenport.
