CRYING OUT LOUD A Book Celebration & Healing Experience with Dr. Laura Berman What if healing sometimes means giving ourselves permission to let out what we’ve been holding in? Join us at Wish Club for a special celebration of Dr. Laura Berman’s new book, Crying Out Loud: A Path Through Grief into a Life Reimagined, and an afternoon of movement, expression, connection, healing and community. Five years after the devastating loss of her 16-year-old son Sammy, Laura shares what she learned as both a therapist and a grieving mother about surviving unimaginable loss and finding a way to live fully again. Crying Out Loud brings together the practices, people and discoveries that helped her along the way, many of which she now teaches to others who are grieving. For this celebration, Laura wanted to bring some of those practices off the page and let people actually experience them. Throughout the afternoon, guests will be invited to move their bodies, try somatic practices, experience sound healing, explore spiritual connection, express themselves through art, receive mini oracle readings and, hopefully, let go of a little of whatever they’ve been carrying. Everything is optional. You can try what speaks to you, skip what doesn’t, spend time with friends, get your book signed, or simply come and celebrate. There is no right way to experience the afternoon. THE AFTERNOON 3:00 PM | Arrive, gather & connect 3:30 PM | A talk with Laura Laura will share the story behind Crying Out Loud, what she learned through her own grief and healing, and some of the practices that became part of the book. Following the talk | Book signing Copies of Crying Out Loud will be available for purchase through our event partner, Sunset Park Provisions. Laura will sign books after her talk and will be around throughout the afternoon to connect with guests. 4:00–5:30 PM | Experience the book Explore a series of optional experiences inspired by practices in Crying Out Loud, including movement, somatic healing, sound, spiritual connection, artistic expression, mini oracle readings, and more. Wander, participate, watch, or simply enjoy being there. 5:30–6:00 PM | Connect & celebrate Admission is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required. Books will be available for purchase at the event through Sunset Park Provisions. Come celebrate the launch of Crying Out Loud and the people, practices, and love that helped bring it to life. Whether you are grieving a loss of your own, supporting someone you love, or simply curious about some of the practices Laura has discovered along the way, you are welcome.
