Clothing Swap to Save the Drops!

Bring donated clothing items to participate in our Clothing Swap to Save the Drops! All ages welcome. Clothing Swaps Save the Drops—Join us for a sustainable fashion event! Did you know it takes over 2,000 gallons of water to produce just one pair of jeans? Fast fashion has a major impact on our planet, especially our water resources. Join UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County for a Clothing Swap that helps you reduce your water footprint while refreshing your wardrobe. Bring your clean, gently used clothing items to trade with others in the community. It’s a fun, eco-friendly way to save money, reduce waste, and conserve one of our most precious resources—water. How it works: • Bring your freshly washed, used clothing items to participate • Drop them off at the front counter to be sorted • "Shop" for new-to-you pieces brought by others • Learn about the environmental impact of fast fashion and how to make more sustainable choices Benefits: • Reduce your water footprint and environmental impact • Extend the life of your clothes and keep textiles out of landfills • Discover sustainable fashion tips from UF/IFAS educators • Connect with your community around shared environmental goals DATE & TIME: 9/13/2026, 2-4 p.m. Clothes drop off beginning at 1 p.m. LOCATION: UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County Office Twin Lakes Park, 6600 Clark Road, Sarasota, FL 34241 EVENT COORDINATOR: Valeria Yon, water resources program assistant, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County For questions or further information, please call 941-861-5000 or email [email protected].
