If your plans change, please cancel your registration so that others may attend. Join the National Wildlife Federation Gulf Program and UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota Sea Grant staff for a unique field trip exploring how Sarasota Bay's natural systems can help communities live with water. We'll begin with an engaging presentation on flooding, community resilience, nature-based solutions, and the Tampa Bay Coastal Master Plan. Then we'll take to the water by boat with Carefree Learners (https://www.carefreelearner.com) to explore Sarasota Bay and see firsthand how mangroves, oyster reefs, and other healthy ecosystems can protect our communities while supporting wildlife, clean water, fisheries, local livelihoods, and the bay's health. Note: Free field trip experience; lunch provided. The field trip requires participant transportation to two different locations. Participants must sign a liability waiver to attend the boat portion of the day. This experience is designed to leave you with a better understanding of the challenges our communities face, the natural systems that help us, and the many ways people + nature + infrastructure can work together to create a more resilient future.
