Oyster Reef Restoration Volunteer Project - Oyster Shell Drilling

Oysters are an important part of healthy coastal ecosystems. They help filter and improve water quality, provide valuable habitat for fish and other marine life, and can help protect and stabilize shorelines. Your efforts will contribute to future restoration work that supports healthier waterways and thriving local ecosystems. No experience is needed! Staff will provide guidance throughout the event, along with all necessary tools and safety equipment, including gloves, eye protection, dust masks, etc. What You'll Be Doing • Drill recycled oyster shells • Assemble oyster pins for future restoration projects • Learn more about the role oysters play in our local waterways • Spend the morning alongside fellow volunteers while supporting an important restoration effort
