This whimsical wellness exercise was started in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from India, and his wife Madhuri, a yoga instructor. Today, there are thousands of laughter yoga clubs in 72 countries. These sessions embrace the concept of laughing for no reason - without humor, jokes or comedy. Practitioners initiate laughter as an exercise in a group, with eye contact and childlike playfulness that turns into contagious laughter. Since the body can't differentiate between fake and real laughter, we get the same benefits from both! The laughter exercises are combined with yoga breathing techniques for a rejuvenating and balanced session that lowers stress, improves moods, strengthens the respiratory system and immune systems, and builds community connections between attendees. *Members receive a 20% discount.
