Empowerment and community — join us for a women's self-defense workshop on the Ballard Public Lofts rooftop, capped off with a cup of coffee Brews & Breakawasys - a Women's Self-Denfense pop up! I will be teaching material based on 15+ years of experience practicing and teaching traditional karate. My approach is designed for beginners, scalable over time, and thoughtful to those who have lived experience with violence and trauma - it’s also just stupid fun to get together and hit things. We will learn a hand full of simple techniques that can be applied in a variety of scenarios. Empower yourself by taking one step towards increased safety for yourself and your community! Admission also includes a $7 credit down at Cloudy Cafe (also a woman owned business). Show up early or stay after to get yourself a delicious brew or pastry.
