1886 Historic Lincoln High School Clean Out

Join us to explore and clean out the 1886 Historic Lincoln High School. Help us reshape ESL, one building at a time! 1886 Historic Lincoln High School Clean-Out SIUE Department of Construction, the East St. Louis Historical Society, SIUE Wyvetter H. Younge Campus, the City of East St. Louis, and many members of the Greater St. Louis construction community are organizing a community-wide cleanup of the 1886 Historic Lincoln School (6th and State Streets). Volunteer crews will focus on removing debris from within the structure, properly preparing the site, and helping secure the building for the work ahead. Wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. We will provide personal protective equipment—gloves, masks, and safety glasses. We will provide brooms and trash bags. Additional cleaning devices and supplies are most welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Free parking is available in the Shriner’s Property surrounding the building. We will provide a table featuring educational opportunities at the event. Please register for the event so we can prepare enough food for lunch.
